congrats on the purchase and it looks like a deer killing machine. A lot of times the cam makes the difference in the way a bow feels and the load up of pounds of draw. A modest shaped C or O cam pulls a whole bunch easier than an aggressive cam will. The more D shaped a cam is the harder it generally is to pull. Many of today's bows get the speed without the hard aggressive cams of just a few years ago. Anyway nice rig!

what do yall think? it says its a 60# bow, but it draws significantly heavier than my martin thats also 60. either the limbsaver is lying, or my martin isnt really 60#. either way it will kill a deer.

its a "small" step forward from my other bow, a martin archery wildcat. now im not saying anything is wrong with that bow, and i plan on keeping it for a long time to shoot every so often. but this is definately in a different bracket as far as performance a feel goes. i plan on shooting it tomorrow, if anyone wants i can do a little writeup on how it does. and ill also be testing out my new stabilizer(the one in the picture) because i havent been able to get out since i bought the thing.

Great looking bow TG!!! My information tag said the maximum draw weight for my PSE bow was 55 lbs, but it was 60. I don't know what's going on there. Nice Bow!!!
Bows often max out beyond there maximum draw weight.U might wanna add a bow sling so you can grip the bow lightly and not be afraid of dropping it.A consistent light grip is very important to good shooting.
thanks guys, and actually i do have one on there now. i took the picture and was looking at it, and realised i hadnt put mine on yet. its just a standard quad braided 550 cord with the leather deal. and if youre wondering about the grip, it had a wooden grip on there, and i took it off. i like the feel of a slim grip, less area to hold= less chance of torque. although this bow is nearly impossible to torque due to the straight riser(look at it, youll see it).
The grip or lack of it looks nice.Looks like your gripping right on the riser.I think you ll be amazed at the increase in speed with the bow.The draw cycle is a little stiff because of the speed of the bow.You will get used to it with practice.Good Luck with it.
so i just got back from the range. and all i can say is WOW!!! this bow is smokin hot. i have the exact same string silencer setup on this bow as was on my martin, with the addition of a few string leeches that came with the bow and i couldnt hear a thing out of this bow except an almost silent little "tuunk" from the cable slide.
i kept the pins on my sight set the same as they were on my martin, and they were previously set as follows;
1) 0-15
2) 20-25
3) 30-35
4) 40-45
5) didnt set
now they are as follows
1) 0-25
2) 30-40
3) 45-55
4) & 5) didnt set yet
it is amazing what a little jump in speed will do to your range. and i dont think ill ever take a shot on a deer past my second pin, but its nice to know that i can get that out of my bow on the range, im anticipating my 4th and 5th pins will take me to 70M or close to that.
the stabilizer i have(octane 11.5") is sweet. i didnt think it was making much difference until i took it off and shot a group, they went from fighting for the same hole at 30 to about 2 inches without it on. and also it helps the bow to roll forward after the shot due to having so much weight out front. so i think this will be about the exact setup i use for hunting, unless i can find a rest that performs better than my QAD hunter rest.
anything else you guys want to know? oh, you know that saying "dead in hand"? yeah, that saying captures this bow, absolutley no shock.

well, i took my bow to the shop today to shoot it through the chronograph and see what the actual draw weight on this thing is. first, like i was saying about it feeling heavier on the draw than my martin, it is 67.70LBS draw weight. so i was right about that. and second, with my arrows set up the way they are, they weigh in at 422Gr. and my bow shoots at about 271FPS with those arrows. i bet if i went to something like the easton flatline or something id be able to get over 300. but i dont really care about speed, i just want it to be as silent as possible and be accurate. which im pretty sure i achieved since one of the guys in the shop, no more than 5 feet away from me shooting, said "man, that thing is silent!''. so im extremely happy with my bow and how it shoots.
i was out shooting today, and i was mainly practicing my short game trying to prepare myself for a kind of informal shooting league my pro shop told me about, that they host. max range is 20 yards, and they do what they called a 3 spot. i was doing pretty well, but im sure my first shoot with this league will be a humbling experience. but i got a little daring and decided to step it out to 60M and see if i could do anything. and just as anticipated my 4 pin put me just a hair low at 60. moved it, right on. stepped back some more, 5th pin was almost dead on at 75M, so i just moved back more, and its right on at 79M. i just didnt feel like moving pins anymore, and i highly doubt ill be shooting that far very often. but ill tell you what, it was really fun watching those arrows arc toward the target, im willing to bet they were about 4 or 5 feet above line of sight at their highest point. fun stuff.
