Do any of you guys change what you eat prior to and during hunting season? I've heard of giving up things like garlic, onions, and even meat. Things I couldn't live without. I'd end up starving to death before the season is over.

I used to eat my homemade jerky in the woods all the time but stopped. It's heavy in the garlic and onion powder dept. My friend said I had bad breath after eating some one day. I initially took offense to the remark but it made me think if a human can smell it then a deer certainly can... my .02.

Before hunting season, I start eating more fruit, less meat and fat. Mostly to help get in shape, and I usually drop about 10-12 pounds. Matter of fact, it's just about time for me to start. Thanks for the reminder.

I eat whatever, whenever. The Lord came me an overactive fat burner I believe. In the stand I usually go with snickers and packs of crackers. I do put the crackers in a ziploc bag though to reduce the noise level I make when chowing down. Crinkling wrappers in the dead quite woods seems awful loud to me when I am trying to be quiet.

I've heard of guys going full blown vegetarian cause they believe that pray animals can smell and tell the difference between carnivores and herbivores and that deer are not afraid of herbivores. just wondering what you all thought about it.

If somebody was in my blind with me then they may have some concerns, but what I had for supper the nite before is not my problem. But since I stand alone there is not a problem.

Only if the wife is mad and doesn't cook, other than that I don't worry about it.
