good tips. Also depends on what type of water you're hunting marshes, river, big water. Decoy requirements also vary according to type of water. Some times as few as 1/2 doz and a canoe will work other times like hunting Lake Erie we would put out 125 decoys stringing them out from the layout boat like in a letter V and then set about 8-10 in front of the layout. The long V formation would sorta steer the ducks right down the middle where we were setting.
