Get a metal fence T-post and go to wal mart and get the bracket that mounts any trail cam to a T-post, then you can place your cam any were you want. If I do it like that I like to back it up against a brush pill to help hide it but it works great when there is just no tree were you need one. This will tell you if that buck is nocturnal right there and if he is then all you can do is keep moving your cam back till you get him in daylight or you run out of your property. If you know what I'm saying. Start there and see what time he's showing up, if it's just an hour or so after dark you should be able to go down property to find him in light hours, if it's like 2 am then there is a great chance all your gonna get is some great night time buck pics.( But there is always the chance of like here with opening gun weekend and so many people any guns in the woods that it keeps the deer up n moving)but if your neighboring property is hunt free then they won't be pushed and will bed as usual and your back to square one and would just have to hope he gets horny enough in his rut to make a fatal mistake, but he didn't get that big by making mistakes
