Cwd

That sucks man. Here in Missouri they are severely cracking down on it. There are only a couple cases of it, but they are really trying to nip it now so that this doesn't hurt our deer herd. They say, CWD is most common in bucks, so in my area of hunting they have taken the antler-point restriction (at least 4 points on one side) off for this season and now we can kill any bucks of any age. I'm hoping this will clear it up in an effort to control and get rid of this CWD.

On another note, we have had a terrible time with blue tongue here in MO this year b/c o the drought. Interestingly though, the dept. of conservation isn't too conserned about that.......?

Funny (not really) but from what I have heard NY's CWD case a few years ago was also from a deer farm yet IMHO another reason not to have these farms

Blue tongue kills deer quickly and is seasonal,not a threat to the long term survival of the herd.CWD is slower to develop and spreads from deer to deer by saliva,urine and feces in the soil.It is always fatal and apparently remains active in the soil up to 18 years.I have been opposed to deer farms ever since I learned about it.

Lower Michigan is being hit hard from some kind of midge fly that causes the deer to bleed to death. I don't have the facts as I've just learned of it. Their talking thousands of deer to die from it.

That's kinda what these deer around here have done HM. We've lost over 3,000 deer to this fly-bite thing. I was assuming it was the same as blue tongue??? maybe not. How is blue tongue contracted then? anyone know?

thats blue tounge, its caused from the nats going into nose and laying larva

gotcha, so it's the same thing then.

Here in Montana, we closed all pay-to-hunt game farms years ago. Funny thing is that it happened by hunters, non-hunters and anti-hunters all working together to support a ballot initiative to make those canned hunts illegal. Probably the first time in history that those groups came together on an issue. Anyway, it can be done. You might consider doing that in your state.

looks like most states that have reposted CWD cases stated at "deer Farms"

And all of this, is why I've been so strongly against Deer farms & canned hunts.
None of it is worth paying to shoot what some fool calls a trophy rack.
