You all may think that the re-introduction of the wolf into the lower 48 has no bearing on anything you might want to do, hunting-wise. If you EVER think you might want to hunt out west, then you need to watch this video. If you trust your "country" to do what is proper for wildlife in your country, then you need to watch this video.

This is a looong video and I started it with the idea I would NOT watch it all. Long story, short; I could not turn it off and was mesmerized with what information I learned from it. If you have any interest in this country, hunting & what some people might do to keep you from doing that (hunt!) then you need to see this video in it's entirety.

If you're anything like me, and very upfront about your rights to hunt, you will not be able to turn it off, promise!

Turner, the wolves are tearing up the deer in the UP of Michigan where they were introduced. My buddy up there says the hunters are starting to delete their numbers, which is against the law I'm sure. I saw 2 huge wolves the last time I hunted there. I couldn't believe how big those things get. I'll have to watch the video later.

I have a very good friend who hunts northern Wisconsin and he says the same thing, the wolves are really hurting the deer population there. Wonder what it will take to get states off their collective duffs and start thinning the wolf population to manageable numbers.

I'm starting to think that there is/was a master plan by environmentalists to use the re-introduction of wolves to stop sport hunting.....

We have enough troubles here in south/central Texas with coyotes, etc. and don't need any "extra" help from the gov't. But listening to folks living up north where the wolves have been re-introduced and protected, there have been nothing but troubles. Cattlemen are losing livestock and hunters are seeing vastly reduced numbers in game animals.

Don't have to watch a video to know that everything requires a balance. That's why it's called a "balance in nature" (duh!). When there's nothing that can keep wolf populations in balance, then the government needs to step in to ensure that balance is kept - be it organized hunts or whatever.

Thanks HM for bringing this very important issue to light. Here's (another) issue for us (collectively) to bring to our congressional members.

I have a friend at work who's cousin farms in upper Wisconsin and observed a pack watching him on a tractor. Just biding their time. that particular pack was determined later to be an aggressive pack and slated by the WI DNR for eradication. His cousin has also told him that there is literally no deer to hunt any more in his area.
