Here in NW Ohio crappies are a spring fish, flesh is firm, when water gets too warm the flesh tends to soften up and not quite as good. Ronn, you have way too much time on your hands, where's that 2nd-3rd job to prevent having outdoor fun??? Nice fish and good eating. Would rate crappies right behind Lake Erie yellow perch and walleye. Blue gill are also great eating fish. Bass are way down the list for eating and I encourage the release also!

With work schedule so nasty our annual Canadian fishing trip won't happen this year. This is not a good thing and no ammount of OT money can't replace a lost fishing trip/year. I'm going to plan for next year and hopefully that happens. Bummer. :crybaby:

You bet ronn, I really have a hard time trying to figure out which I enjoy the most hunting trip vs fishing trip. Maybe its the balance that works best. Guys are catching post spawn walleye on Lake Erie right now. The fishing should be good for the next 2 months.
