I learned a big leason this year on clover. I have a 2 acre food plot I put winter wheat and crimson clover last fall. I let 3/4 of the field stand all summer until the wheat and clover seeded. I left it more for the small game than anything and this fall I just replanted a fourth of the field.
In August I cut the rest of it down and right now Nov 1 that field has the thickest stand of clover I have ever seen. The deer are coming into the field more than they ever have and spending more time in the clover than they do in the new food plot of wheat clover mix.
