Sounds like you had a good trip. What kind of fish were you catching over there? Blues, flathead? I went fishing over the weekend too, but I was using my fingers for bait (noodling). I had never caught one like this before, and let me tell you it was a blast. There is nothing quite like reaching into a likely spot and feeling a fish there in the water just doing its thing. They were surprisingly calm and just let me fumble around until I got my hands on them. It was also neat to see how these fish spawn...they apparently find a spot out of the main current (usually an undercut or in a piece of debris), lay their eggs, and sit and fan them until they hatch. In all the holes with fish there was a big pile of eggs there as well. That was a side of things that I had never seen in the wild, and was neat to experience.
