I just made a 140 yard shot in the brush with my 30-06 on a small buck. I knew I hit back a bit so I went back to the house and grabbed my light and switched guns to my henry 22 lever action. I tracked blood til I saw 2 eyes in the darkness about 20 yards from me. I cocked it and fired. I poped it between the eyes and he dropped. Thats my first 22. deer kill and it proves it possible. I wouldn't recomend it, I only did it because I knew that if I brought my 30-06 out and started shooting @ dark the local game warden would be ticked. A 22 will kill a deer in the head but I wouldn't shoot passed 20 yards. aim behind the eyes, in the ear, or just below the ear and they will die.
