no expierence with buckshot, but slugs are deadly .yes they make slugs for smoothbores check out some brennekes, federal truball, remington.they all make slugs for smoothbores.make sure you do not shoot a slug meant for a rifled barrel out of your smoothbore.
thanks alot!! i will use this info to my knowledge.
Use slugs. For a smoothbore barrel you WANT a rifled slug. If you had a rifled barrel then you would want a sabot slugs...but if you had a rifled barrel you couldn't shoot buckshot. What are the specs on your current barrel?
wisc dont no why you told em to get rifled slugs for a smoothbore. Its just gonna be a waste a money its gonna tumble down the barrel regardless with no rifling.just curious

Rifled slugs are FOR a smoothbore.

Sabot slugs are FOR a rifled barrel.

ive been using the 3'' 1oz rifled slugs by winchester. i just cant get a consistant group with the rifled though.

Try 2 3/4" slugs...3" slugs might recoil a bit to much for good accuracy. Try different types of rifled slugs as well. Does your barrel have rifle sights or just a bead at the end?
it has a bead at the end. but ive been a heck of a good shot before
Not saying your a bad shot or anything...but you may want to look into a slug barrel for your shotgun if you can..you didn't state what kind of gun it is. Its hard to shoot accurately with just a bead sight...I don't think I would risk taking that hunting personally.
the gun i have is a cheap old cva armi san marco 12ga. do you know of any scopes i could put on it?? it is a breat action though
Well, is it drilled and tapped? Your best option might be to just buy a new/used shotgun or rifle all together.
i might just do that ive been looking at a model 770 30.06.
I'd check out one of Marlins bolt actions or a Stevens 200 before one of Remingtons cheaper rifles.
ur rt wisc i just didnt want em getting confused and buying the 15.00$ a box ones which would do nothing out of a smoothbore.

Those are the sabots.
