Saturday I went out to my stand before sunup. I set my scent lures out and settled in. When it was finally light enough to see, I started calling with an estrus bleat call. After working it for 45 minutes, I had 3 different bucks come in from 3 different directions. one was a small bodied spike, the 2nd one was a slightly bigger bodied fork horn, the third one had a nice body so I waited for him. Just as I shot, he moved to challenge the smaller bucks and I missed. the two smaller bucks ranup and over the opposite hill while the bigger one ran up the hill to my left and stopped. I had to lean back to get a clear shot. I took aim and fired. He ran down the hill and then up again and dropped at 7:15 am about 25 yards from where I shot him. I called my boyfriend and he said he would be there shortly. I took a few pictures and then started field dressing him. I was almost done by the time my boyfriend got there. His eyes bugged out when he saw my buck, and said that it was a good buck for our area. My deer season is over until muzzleloader season starts December 11th.
