My daughter is an amateur photographer and took these pics right out of our back door. Some are as close as about 20 feet or so.

Asked mama about hunting from the dining room window, but the look I got told me that I'd better rethink that idea. Couldn't imagine why . . . . . . .

I need to go to Texas and see you folks.. Tell you what me and you can send the wives and kids shopping while we just hang out in the kitchen and drink coffee.. If something happens to walk by we will just tell em we got the hankering to go hunting.. Their never going to know we shot out your back door..

Buckfever,

Do have to relay the story about the last time I tried shooting something out the back door, BEFORE we try doing something like that again.

Last time, it was a raccoon that was taking up permanent residence ON the back porch. I pulled out the single shot .410, loaded it, then went for the coon. Problem was, the long drapes that hang down covering the sliding back door kinda sorta got in the way. Oh, I certainly blew a hole in sump'n, but it sure wasn't that coon. Mama still rags me about that every now and then.

But y'all are certainly welcome to 'stop by' . . . and I'll have a pot o' coffee waitin for ya.

Maybe then we can discuss a 'long term lease' for that .243 that my youngest son has outgrown. Hmmm, maybe if I can get daughter #3 interested in hunting, she may end up with it instead of my #1 grand-daughter . . . . . . . . . . .

You got to give daughter #3 a shot at it first. You never know she may like it and decide she wants it herself.

:whistling: Already had that part figured out! If she (dau # 3) likes the bolt action .243 (Savage Model 11), then I can always "move up" to the .300 Savage (Remington Model 81) from the 6mm Remington I used this year and she can use it.

BTW -- I heard through the grapevine that my daughter # 2 just might be interested in hunting sometime with her hubby. Hmmmmm . . . sounds like there may be a dilemma brewing there in Tn. Who gets the .243???
