The last two years has shown a reduction in factory 54 caliber ML bullets. Yesterday I found some at Deer Creek Products and made by CVA. They look like old stock items, however, I was glad to purchase some. I have two 54 cal flintlocks and like shooting conical bullets vs patched round balls for hunting. My slow twist rifling will shoot certain conical bullets. It is simply a trial and accuracy test. Usually a 1-48" twist rate is necessary to shoot accurately, however, even my 50 caliber 1-66" TC PA hunter will shoot a modified conical called the PA ballet. It is a 240gr round nose conical in front of 90 grains of 3f powder and is very accurate.
