Well I got my 1st bow kill last week (Turkey) & my first deer just before 10:00 AM this morning nothing to write home about but good enough for me 105 dressed doe 24 yards (Turkey was 23 yards)
I have to say I was not sure about the Rage broadheads but as long as they make them I will keep buying them!!!! there was a blood trail a blind person could follow.
well doe is down now I need the buck then off to Naples NY in 2 weeks & hopefully drop the hammer on a couple out there but this takes the pressure off so now I can go after the big boy I have on the Cam I will post some pics later

Spiker yes I love the area we used to stay in bath & hunt in Naples but this year we rented a log cabin 2 miles from where we hunt
I am just happy to get out of town & have a vacation just hanging w/ the boys telling lies

Thank you guys
It was & it was exciting I am worn out very long hunt I had watched 3 doe feeding out of bow range 60 yards I have been practicing since last year out to 60 yards so I am comfortable shooting at least 40 I shoot every day all year long from a dozen to 30 arrows but I will not shoot at game over 40 but after about 1 hour on finally came well into range I had held a draw on her two different times for over 5 min ea & couldn't take a shot mind you I was hunting from the ground not my stand so we were eye to eye finally I took the shot shaking from holding the bow for so long went less then 50 yards whole hunt from time I spotted the deer till I recovered it was a little over 2 hours this is only my full second season bowhunting have bow hunted before but it was no where as serious as I take it now this hunt was mentally & physically challenging for me but it was cool & adrenaline didn't really kick in till I found the arrow & blood trail good thing as I didnt need to shake more then I already was
well sorry for rambling just was probably the best hunt for me ever (even with it being a doe but I would give up rifle for the bow any day of the week now

Bow hunting is the best woods time for me, followed by flintlock hunting. 40 yds is a long shot but as much as you're practicing and with today's fast bows its no longer considered a risk shot. Just this year I've pushed my practice yardage out to 40 yds. 5 years ago I thought people were crazy to take such long shots and now well into my 50's here I am too! Again congrats on your 2 bow kills job well done! Time for mr. buck.

As you know NH is not the easiest place to hunt I think if we were in a different state we all would have better luck that is why I am so proud of this deer kill my area we are happy when we get one during rifle season any deer here is a trophy & I am not in a bad area dartmouth region of NH
