what is a good shooting bullet for 17hmr?
I have used the 17 hmr on coyote, every shot inside 100 yds and it was effective, good clean kill with proper shot placement, I use the 17 gr hornady vax out of my ruger, I wasn't hunting coyotes, just shots of opportunity when zapping crows. I have done pretty good with the 17, usually average a 1.5 inch group on paper at 200 yards on very calm days, the wind affects these little bullets pretty bad and since I live in oklahoma where the wind never stops blowing, I don't shoot it as much as I want todo u know if a .17 Hmr is good for coyote hunting and whats the accuret range of a .17?
Maybe out to like 100 yards or so but I personally wouldn't trust it. I would say .22mag as a minimum. The bullets for the .17HMR are just to small and light. I've got a .223 and a .243 that I use as coyote guns. A .17HMR would probably be accurate out to 100-175 yards.do u know if a .17 Hmr is good for coyote hunting and whats the accurate range of a .17?
The .17 HMR is a great choice for Coyote the .17hmr is very comparable to the .22WMR both are ideal for small to medium game out to 100 yards..do u know if a .17 Hmr is good for coyote hunting and whats the accuret range of a .17?
