Ya know i have friends that have gotten many foxes and coyotes with a .17. I recently took aim at at red fox bout 160yds. He was sitting and facing right towards me, but that darn tiny bullet only seemed to feel as a bee sting to him. Dont get me wrong i love my savage .17 but for a fox or coyote i wish i would have gotten a .243. But you can shoot those cray prowlers with that .17, but i know that unlike a deer foxes have a thick fatty material inside by their heart and lungs, so the best way to get em would prob be in the lower neck, head, or straight on in the chest.
