I picked up my moose head yesterday

Wow, this thing is big.... and it's a small moose!

I was kind of disappointed that I didn't get a big one, but even this one takes up a lot of room & barely fit thru the door of the house! My wife & I really need to get a bigger house.

I hope it's OK to post this here, even though it's a deer hunting forum. I just had to show it off!

Great job talking the wife into lettting it in the house

My wife said last time I went elk hunting a big bull would have to go into the garage. You did great getting it on an inside wall of the house. I thought that they all have the palm sections on their horns? Not that it isn't impressive. What did you shoot it with?

The older, more mature moose have the palms orboards as the New Foundlanders call them, but this was a fairly young moose.
I ended up shooting it with my 7mm Mag Thompson Center Encore Prohunter using an Winchester Accubond 160 grain bullet. It was, by far a longer shot than I had ever shot an animal before. It was 425 yards away across a bog.
