Hunting Man Got to see the SE Ohio plots and the deer have eaten them down to nothing. They were once 6-8" high.

Hunting Man Son is heading over to PA Friday to put in two fall food plots. Until we chemically kill everything, success will be limited due to weeds. Figure something is better than nothing and they have gotten some rain lately. There is one 8pt hanging around so maybe we can fatten him up some

Hunting Man Looks like I will be trying to get a fall food plot in for PA. Right now they're in a drought like NW Ohio is so I will wait till they start seeing some rain.

Falcon Cereal rye and winter rye are the same thing. i'm waiting for a rain before planting my plots this year. Last year i planted too early and had to re-plant.

Here is a good article on winter rye. Best to save it to Word, and then paragraph the thing.

jgwilliam Now, we know ryegrass is different than cereal rye. I just don't know your experiences between Cereal Rye and Winter Rye...and what you make those decisions. I bet they are the same thing, but I like to hear from people who have planted it.

Hunting Man I've been watching the big storms go thru PA and hopefully I can get in to plant something by mid June. Off time is highly limited for me this year as we are down one supervisor. My plan is just get a mix plot in and give the deer a little extra feed. That's the plan anyways.
