You could probably get a 500 barrel that has removable chokes then you could run steel through it.

No, not all barrels. Barrels with an interchangeable Accu-Choke™ or Accu-Mag™ choke tube system, yes (with proper tubes installed.) However, steel shot is not recommended for older "C-Lect Choke®" or fixed-choke barrels.

12 gauge issues
I have a mossberg 500 model A with a 30 inch barrel. the barrel has a built in full choke says it takes 3 inch shells but i don't know wether i can shoot steel through it or not NEED HELP ASAP!!
