tator No I still disagree. How is the coach able to get the kids to look PUMPED UP? He can't. The fact is this... ND knew they were whipped when they stepped on the field. They knew there was no way they were going to win. period. That's not the coach. The coach can not make his players play well. Heck if that were the case there would be no fumbles, no interceptions, no penalties and no flags thrown. I guess all those are the coach's fault too?? Just saying

But when all 22 kids come out looking like they are on a Dimetapp overdose, then it's on the coach. Even the team leaders were fired-up.

Hunting Man No question Saban is the best college coach out there right now.

spiker Notre Dame was outclassed and Saban given that much time to prepare is unbeatable.Kelly looked like a first timer he couldnt calm his team down.Saban is like beilichek(spelling)he takes you out of your gameplan and makes you win a different way.

I am a believer that motivation cannot come from an external person or thing. Your motivation can ONLY come from yourself. If you WANT IT, you're motivated to go GET IT. There are MANY time when the coach believes in his guys but the guys aren't motivated themselves and therefore lose. If you're not motivated to get out there and play your hardest, then it's time to hang up the helmet.

Hunting Man One never knows, players still have to suit up and play the coach is on the side line. I think there were other teams that might have played better. Who knows?

ND had some impressive victories along the way to their #1 ranking before the BCS game. What is never considered is how well a coach can get a team "up" for a game after almost a month layoff. Some coaches are masters at it, and some aren't. There was no fire in ND when they came out of the tunnel onto the field. From their play during the season, ND had the right to be there. That loss is pinned almost entirely on the coach, Brian Kelley, in my opinion.

Hunting Man I didn't figure ND would match up very well. SEC was a bit weak this year overall but bama won it and is #1.

tator That national champ was pathetic. I stopped watching at half time. I knew no matter how much better ND got in the 2nd half, they still weren't going to beat Bama.

Would've liked to have seen Oregon vs. Bama......

In all fairness, either Penn State or Ohio State would've given that SEC team a better run for it's money than ND did. They just rolled over and left a steaming poo pile in the stadium. Failure defined.
