Late season long pack out

I live in southeast Washington. Getting ready for my upcoming late season muzzleloader season. I hunt in a walk in only area. I have a traditions evoloution .50 cal inline muzzleloader. This is only gonna be my second year hunting with a muzzy. What loads do y'all use powder and what grain bullet? Any tips on mule deer hunting in sage brush?

I also hunt with a Traditions Muzzleloader4, I have the Vortek Ultralight.
I get very nice performance & accuracy with Triple Se7en, 50/50, .50 caliber pellets and the .250 Grain Traditions Smackdown SST Bullets. Good Luck and Happy Safe Hunting

I prefer Black Horn loose powder. It's a bit more expensive but well worth it. I use 100 gr for my inline rifles in 50 cal, 110 gr for 54 cal. I like lighter bullets in 250 gr. TC super glides!!

I do not shoot a traditions but use 250 grain shockwaves with two 50 grain triple seven pellets. usually passes right through the deer. There is some great info on several of the larger muzzloader bullet sights regarding bullet grains and there use for what size animal...speed vs distance etc...Reason I say this is I believe mule deer grow larger than the whitetails here in the east and believe I would probably use something in a heavier grain bullet

So it's 8 days till muzzleloader season and I went scouting today. I saw 6 deer and two of them were bucks. A nice 4x4 and a monster 6x6 it's the nicest deer I've ever seen in my area do mule deer follow the same habits? It figures that when its not hunting season I'm a 125 yards from a monster!!
