The Rut
Anybody got any opions or insight on when the peak of the rut will hit Southeastern Illinois this year?

wrong no offense but i think it will be right around november 10th give or take a few days
remember the weather and the moon have a huge effect on the rut so keep thst in mind the colder the better or should i say hotter the rut will be

I tend to agree with lopedog. I've already seen some light chasing, and one really good fight between 8 pointers! It's gonna happen the week before shotgun season.

I have read that the length of daylight hours is what triggers it.The moon and weather just helps.Its normally around the 2nd week in nov here in TN.

I think in TN will not have a very good rut ITS JUST TO HOT!!!!

Your right 10point.We will have a rut,they just wont be running does as hard due to the heat.We still have a couple of weeks for it to cool down.I'm praying it does!
