Got the cam in the mail on Friday and put it out yesterday after church. It was very simple to set up and reminded me alot of the moultrie cams. I love the feeling of a new trail cam. Hoping it's a good one that will last for awhile.

Does anyone currently use the cams that email or text you photos? I think this is REALLY cool, but the big downside is you have to pay a mobile phone cost for this luxury. From what I've seen, you can get access for $70 for 6 months. That is just too steep for me. $140/year (if you run them year round). Plus the $500+ up front cost of the trail cam. I think I'll wait 10 years before they are the norm and they are a heck of alot cheaper.... :)

Will keep you posted on the new cam. Going to check it Friday evening.

Wow, I did not realize some states had outlawed them. That is interesting to know!

I joked the other day to a buddy that some day, they will make a trail camera that has a small gun attached so when it notifies you, you can go "live", aim and shoot that buck of a lifetime from the comfort of your office. Let's hope we don't ever come to that.....

LOL funny you said that. In the same ruling "smart" guns were also illegal

haha wow, called that shot! That's what our society is coming to. As much as I'd love having a trail cam that sends me pics instantly to my phone, I think I'd miss the thrill of checking them and planning my strategy. Hunting is quickly becoming too easy for the hunter that has big $$. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the hunting shows on TV and many of those guys (and gals) do things the right way, but they have managers they hire and trail cams that send them pics and hunting spots all set up for them, etc... Is that really hunting?

Not my way of hunting but for some I guess it is.
I didn't even put a trail camera out for the last 2 years. I have gone back to old school just go out & see what happens. I never targeted a single deer. There were a couple I would have loved to have hanging on my wall but never passed on a good deer for one I saw on my camera

By the way here's the box that I was refering to: https://www.carid.com/stealth-cam/se...-stc-bbgx.html The center piece is open, but animals usually damage the outer parts, so it's not an issue.
