great day

Today my son and I were in Northern Michigan looking at hunting properties. Our search took us close to the log cabin I built in the mid 80's so we walked in about 1.5 miles through 1' of snow to see it. What made it so great it was the first time my 28 year old son got to see it. We sold it before he had any memory of it. The cabin is now over 30 years old and in perfect shape. It looks just like I left it and made my day as I have not seen it in 22 years. Many memories were brought back today and having my son see what we built when I was his age was pretty special!

We didn't. It's crazy we had two phones and a camera in the truck. It was getting late and I knew it would be dark by the time we got back to the truck and I would be breathing hard. I will try to post a picture of it with my camera and a picture.

Cabin pictures. Built from standing red oak on the property.

That walk will last forever in your son's memories... Those type of memories are the best ones....

Thanks, the above pictures are from a book my son and daughter-in-law made for me this past Christmas. They put the cabin, hunting, fishing, my brother, and my dad in it. Again, one of those presents you remember for ever.

That is so absolutely awesome. That is my dream to be able one day to do that. Anyone ever watch that Mountain Men show? That Marty has a great "life"! Not that I hate being around people, but man, that would be so sweet to be living off the land and building what you needed from what the land gave you.
