Co-worker came over and took a liking to my 40cal H&K compact. I have 4 mags with it. He and his wife completed their conceal carry course yesterday and now want something to carry. She is looking for a 380, S&W or Ruger?

The .380 Ruger LCP (Lightweight Compact Pistol) is quickly becoming the Carry weapon for a lot of folks as it conceals extremely well, very small at only 5", very lightweight at only 9.4 oz. I'm considering one myself.

This is just my opinion
Hate to say this as I am a big Ruger fan but I had a .380 LCP & hated it
I would personally look at the LC9 though it is a little bigger it would still make a good carry gun. The LCP to me was to small & hard to get a good grip on it even with my small hands. Ring finger & pinky hang below the grip. it has a torque to the side when fired rather then a straight back recoil. It is also a point blank range gun unless you get the model with the drift adjustable sight
The 9mm would give you more "firepower" & one extra round for little more money here are the basic specs of the two
