So, I decided to buy an above ground pool package for the grand daughters. Not sure what I got myself into but I think you need to be a mechanical engineer to decipher the manual. I had a previous pool when my kids were little so at least the area still had some sand left. 12x24 oval. Getting a transit to set the foundation blocks level today. So far the heart is doing well with digging in 90* heat. :vs_sob::vs_sob:
Good for them! I would think some stakes with string and a string-level would be enough to make a reasonably level foundation. All the weight of that water is going to compress the foundation sub-layers regardless.
I saw someone put black trash bags on the top of the water all over their pool. This helps draw in the heat and warm the water up. Worth a shot- plus would be cheaper than buying a solar cover.
