I hope the people in that region are all safe, warm & sheltered from the storm.
The news said the National guard have been called upon to help plow/shovel.

It really is tragic, amazing, and unbelieveable all at the same time. 5 miles up a North South roadway will be the difference between inches and feet of snowfall. Where I live and where my job yard is there is a 5ft of snow difference. I cannot even make it to work to assist in snow removal. I and others are pretty sad knowing we can't help with cleanup/rescue efforts because almost all roadways are closed and no access otherwise. You can actually see the dark black cloud line off of the lake and see the snow billowing down from it from far away.

Blizzard Buckets

When I moved up here to Minnesota 30 years ago from Indiana, people said to make up a Blizzard Bucket for the car. It was a plastic gallon Ice Cream bucket filled with stuff like candles, space blankets, candy bars, and a metal pot to melt snow in. I thought they were crazy but if caught in a storm like you have had it would be a possible life saver. I hope all get home safe.
