I'm just a new hunter, and I have taken some unethical shots, which you can read about in the thread "First deer! Spiked buck!" but even though I hit the deer in the very front of the shoulder blade, my Tekan G5 100 grain expandable broadhead richocheted off of it and still drove all the way through the deer and went through both lungs on the way.

That might be contributed more to the bow than the broadhead, but I like the ones I use. That's biased as all get out, but I hope it might've helped.

I also shot Thunderheads (100 grain) and have never had a problem with them. 40 bucks for 6 heads and then 20 bucks for 6 sets of replacement blades works for me. I also use "virgin" blades for every shot at fur. I still cannot get fully comfortable with a mechanical.

For over ten years I've been shooting Muzzy 100 gr three blades, last year I shot their mx3 100 gr. You can't go wrong with Muzzy. However, I too have been caught up in the Rage hype so this year I'm trying their 3 blade. I have seen the damage the Rage broadhead makes so we'll see. One thing with Muzzys after a hit just change the blades and your good to go again.

I currently shoot Magnus Stinger Buzzcut broadheads. They're pinpoint accurate and very durable. I hope I can try them on a deer very soon. I shot the slicktrick 85gr broadheads and they whistled through they air so I had to switch.
