Outdoor life article on the cost of Bows
I was reading a magazine a couple of days ago and I read that the current crop of Bows were over 1000.xx for the different companies high end bows.
The piece also said that bow shops were going out of business because people don't upgrade yearly anymore. It also said that many shops can't afford to have an inventory in the store due to cost.
My firearms will still be around in 100 years, I guess I was surprised that Bow hunting tech was moving so fast that a couple year old one was crap.
I still have a Bear Polar LTD compound bought brand new in Dec of 1977.
It is Bears first attempt at a compound Bow and the arrows take a week to get to the target compared to todays Bows.
Pretty sure my son has 1700 in his Mathews. That Bear probably has antique collector value :biggrinning:. Even in our million dollar refinery, inventory stock is reduced for tax purposes. I don't see how small bow shops stay in business these days.
Yes, the article said how you should get your bow tuned every year due to cable stretching. It also said after all the local shops are out of business people are going to have a problem if a cabellas or bass pro isn't close.
