I shot this 9 point on a Wed PM and tracked deer for 3 hours and couldn't find it. On the following Sat, 2 1/2 days later, I was hunting a different stand in the same area and heard dogs barking and growling in the creek behind me. I got out of the stand and two black labs ran away. I saw something in the creek that looked red and white in color. Put my scope on it and it was the rear end of a 9 point the dogs had been eating on . The deer was still alive. I finished it off and called for help to get it to the skinning shed. The deer weighed 200 pounds, had a 15 1/4 inside spread and 5 inch bases. Because the deer didn't meet the club criteris of 18 inches, it cost me a $500 fine. I could have sworn it was 18 inches, but I misjudged.

Nice Rack... but I'm afraid The "Club" made a poor choice to fine you on doing the right thing, I mean you could have just left it to the dogs. would they have preferred you do that?

personally I'd opt out of that club and find one more fitting for an Ethical hunter like yourself.

That stinks man, hows anybody going to know the measurement off hand. If I ran that club I'd reward you for doing the right thing. You have ethics and that says alot.
