Good caliber for 13 year old daughter.

i like a 7mm-08. it's got a little more kick but she be able to hunt with it her whole life. but if you arent make long shots any large caliber handgun round will work .357,44. my son is 9 and he shoot a doe at 140 yards with a marlin .357 rifle and drop her

20 gauge sabot slug, .308 win(best choice), 7mm mag. All of these are good for deer and have light recoil. But if you daughter is afraid of recoil (or is smaller framed) the .243 would work fine. But due to it's size, it is less forgiving of poor shot placement. If she can shoot 3'' .410 shells she should be able to handle even a featherweight .243, in my experience. just my 2 cents.

I surely wouldn't consider the 7mm mag a light recoiling rifle by any means. Maybe the 7mm-08 but not 7mm mag...

ol .243 would be great, or even a .270 with a 100 grain bullet would be fine. if you get a 20 ga. make sure its not a single shot. those things pack a punch! 7mm-08 is nice.....maybe depending on shooting distance, a .308 with a light recoil bullet, or like they said earlier, a .357 mag, or a .44 Mag lever gun is nice too.

i was looking at my reloading book today and was reading about that and the 257 Ackley Improved......seems like an amazing round... whats the price on ammo?
