Check online , see if there is a JAKES (Juniors Acquiring Knowledge Ethnic Sportsmanship)thing there each year,
they have it here in our area and Jacob goes every year, they are supervised my trainers in Rifles and Bows :)

im sure in iowa with all them deer there has to be some childrens courses or beginner courses. i just started hunting a few years back and places like this really help lots of knowledge in them. and you can make some friends that might help you land problem...
