Sons first Deer Rifle

Just bought my 8 year old his first deer rifle. A Mossberg ATR 100 .243.
PLanning on havinghim use 100 gr. rounds. I use Remington Core Lok for all my rifles. His outside shot on my field will be 150 yds so he should be set.
