Venison Pepper Steak
Ingredients:
1 pound venison steak (round steak or ham steak works well)
3 – 4 Tbsp vegetable oil
1 medium onion, sliced into O’s
1 bell pepper, sliced into O’s
¾ c water, plus water for thinning
3 Tbsp corn starch
5 Tbsp soy sauce
Salt and Pepper to taste
2 c prepared steamed rice or noodles
Directions:
Slice onions and peppers into O’s.
Tenderize meat and slice into thin strips or bite size pieces.
Heat oil in a wok or large skillet. Brown steak strips in the oil until almost completely browned.
Add onions, peppers, and water to the wok and cook until veggies are tender.
Meanwhile, in a small glass or bowl mix corn starch and soy sauce with a fork. Set aside.
Once the peppers and onions are tender, gradually stir in the soy sauce mixture. Immediately add a little water at a time, up to 1 c, until desired thickness is reached. Cover and simmer 10 minutes. Serve over prepared rice or noodles.
