Coyote hunting? what is the best knowledge or techniques for hunting the coyotes? something like a rabbit in distress or injured call? or just knowing where they den and hang out at? |
I normally use some distress early in the year then switch to vocalizations later in the year when the breeding takes place. You still have to do scouting. Using the wind is extremely important. My rifle of choose is a 22-250 but many others are used and liked by other hunters. When in thick cover I use a 12 gauge. If you have any questions I would be more than happy to try to answer them for you. |
i am hoping to get to go try to hunt them sometime this year. never been before. ive heard alot on my lease and seen some several different times. when you scout what are looking for? |
I look for trails they use. Entrance and escape routes. I also try to search a little for possible dens. You can glass hillside at midday and might see one napping under a shade tree. But I want to know if there will be coyotes in the vicinity when I am calling. If you have some farmers around I am sure that they probable have coyote problems and would love to have them thinned out and they have almost all the information you need to kill some coyotes on their farm. |
thank you much |
No Problem. I hope you have good luck when ever you try it and I am sure that you will be hooked. |
