Oh gosh the Turkey are everywhere here. In the mornings I've been hearing yelp a little then that excited cut before they fly down and you could hear them walking/scratching/light yelping. Even in the evenings they fly up and scare the crap out of me because I'm not expecting them to be there.
I havent seen any yet. But then again I have not hunted our lease but maybe a total of 5 hrs this year. That is where all the turkeys are at. I tend to forget about turkeys when deer season is here. Hopefully I will be on the lease a good bit around the later part of Dec.
Seen quite a few already this year...haven't ever been hunting yet and I'm hoping to get hunters ed finished and my licenses before the season opens. Yesterday I saw two toms strutting around a couple hens in someone's backyard. they were good sized too...

not with a gun in your hand and you choose not to shoot them. don't think i said anything about going out pre season and calling to them. if i call up a jake and don't shoot it i guess he is being educated but if you're hunting and calling at all there is some educating going on. my point was that the calling in and working the bird is the fun part not so much the shooting.
