Does anyone else here have to apply for their turkey permits?

Not in TN. If you want some special areas you have to put in for it but the majority of all hunting areas are open to whoever.

in NY its a tag you buy.I get a supersportsman it allows big game small game turkey and fishingplus bow and muzzleloader its like 65$

Just wondering cuz I was thinking about a hunt out of state in a few years and I don't really want to apply for a tag.

well ny has a good population of turkeys in the spring you can only hunt till 12oo then i go fishing.you would need a small game license with turkey stamp and if ya go fishing a fishing license.i can find out how much total if ya like
