Not in TN. If you want some special areas you have to put in for it but the majority of all hunting areas are open to whoever.

in NY its a tag you buy.I get a supersportsman it allows big game small game turkey and fishingplus bow and muzzleloader its like 65$

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
Genesis 27:3 "The thinking deer hunter should mature through three phases during his hunting life. First phase, "I need to kill a deer." Second phase, I want to harvest a nice deer. And last phase, we must manage this resource so our children and their children can experience the grand tradition of good deer hunting." - Jim Slinsky

well ny has a good population of turkeys in the spring you can only hunt till 12oo then i go fishing.you would need a small game license with turkey stamp and if ya go fishing a fishing license.i can find out how much total if ya like

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison.
