I caught a nice muskrat today my first ever with a variation of the float set i saw in Fur Fish Game which is in my opion the best out door magazine ever made, on the float i had 2 #1 traps one coil spring one under spring and for bait and lure i had a slice of apple(it ate it anyway) and pete rickards muskrat lure, it was caught in both traps. There is no spring rat season in wisconsin but just so you know my niegbors were having trouble with them borrowing under docks so im going to take care of it... hopefully
Thanks, and thought i'd tell you guys yesterday i had some traps stolen i think it was the neighborhood kids of wich there is a lot. Also a neighbor told me they saw dnr out there today no doubt one of the neighbors saw me and probly called it in, is what i think happened.
Trapping furbearers out of season is a vialoation of law. No distinction is made for helping a neighbor with a few "problem rats." This will only hurt all outdoors men and trappers, especially since you said others probally saw you. There are legal ways to go about this with nuisance permits that will allow for trapping if they are causing problems. Sometimes trying to be the hero your way isn't the best route to take. Be careful what you say and do.
In my area all i need is to call them let them know im doing it then get there phone # adress and name i have it all and i called them twice about it so you dont have to worry it's 100% legal.
