Ate lunch with a mink!

Sure it sounds crazy but its a true story. I have a spot on the river out back of where I work that I am planning on trapping this fall. To get a good feel of the area and wildlife I have been taking my lunch out there and eating while watching the observing the critters that live there.Today a mink appeared on the tree in front of me and watched me for about 10 minutes. It then crawled down to the water, dove in, and caught a crayfish. It hauled the catch back up the tree and ate it while basking in the sun. After 20 minutes it climbed out of the tree and ran down the shore. It was cool to watch and study its habits.

Sounds cool. You need to train that mink to start sharing its catch with you.

minks are curious little critters too. You'll always find somethng interesting in the woods when you take the time to just sit, listen, and watch.

Those are the neat things that nature provides us with, you'll always remember that moment, pretty cool to see.
