rabbits what rifle would be the best for shooting rabbits at quiet a long range with out wrecking the meat. there is quiet alot of wide open spaces where i am shooting. i am shooting on a huge dry stock farm. |
nothing bigger than a 22 in my book. dont know how much range you could get out of one though |
yea 22 or a .17. i would go with the 22 as well. |
would you reckon a .40 cal? nah .22 for sure...no question all though 8 shot for 12 gauge doesnt really ruin it as u think it would? |
I would use a .22 mag. |
From .22 Long Rifle to a shotgun you will be fine. I used to use my duty load, a .38 Special +P 158grain Lead Hollow Point. Worked fine. For ranch work, and to save money on duty loads, I would use standard 158 grain Lead round nose. They worked fine too. Shotgun from #8 shot to #4 shot did the trick. But, a good balance in the .22 mag, as was posted earlier, and you will do fine. Are these cottontails? |
