Hankering for a new one!!! Well guys it seems I just have a "need" for one of the H&R 12 ga slug guns for the up and coming year. Anyone else thinking about a new slug gun? What do you have in mind or do you have an old favorite you just can't leave home? Right now I'm shooting a Savage Model 210 12 ga I bought years ago. daddus What are your thoughts? |
I know some will balk but my Remington 870 express with 3" sabots with a scope shot a three shot 2" group at 100 yds with two touching. In a shot gun I don't need anything better. It exceeded my expectations! Very please with it. Good luck dd1. |
I have 4 H&R s in the family all 20 ga ,love em all Hm what shells are you shooting out of the 870 |
Delbert, I'm shooting Remington copper solids 3", box says 1550 fps. |
I love my H&R excell auto one of the few in my collection that is not a Ruger Great semi for the price wish they still carried them but I hear you can get them through USSG under the makers name (turkish) so don't ask me to say or spell it for that matter but they are a great gun |
I'm with Delbert on the H&R's in 20 gauge, they are tack drivers. But I really like what you already have, that Savage 210 is a great slug gun, but I understand just wanting something different, I bid on an H&R 20 ga last year myself but lost out in an online auction. Run some Winchester Partition Golds through that 210, put 'em 2" high at 50 yds, you'll be dead nuts at 150 and about 6 or 7" low at 200. |
