New to Deer Hunting I live in Ohio.

How much for a license?
I need to take a test/ class before getting a license?
Need to buy deer tags to place on a deer once I get a deer?
Is there any place I can go to take a deer hunting class for beginners?
Live in southwest Ohio, where Can I hunt or what do you recommend?
I want to use a 12 gauge shotgun, any advice?
I am preparing for next deer hunting season.
any and all advice welcome.

you will need to fulfill all your states requirements. the best thing to do is go to their web site to get the answers to your questions. as for preparing, read all you can about deer and deer hunting. find a mentor, a seasoned hunter, to help teach you the ins and outs. find your hunting area soon so you can scout. here is an idea, if your not sure what you are looking at take pics and post asking questions. specific questions lead to clearer answers.

welcome to the club. there is a link to ohio f & g in another forum here in a sticky post.

Welcome pmikejr
I think I would go to the local sporting goods store and ask a few of those questions. Maybe you could hookup with someone who could show you the ropes. You probably won"t get all your questions answered from the same source. be patient this deer hunting deal is a process. Good luck!
