Hey indy how did you make out?

From your post a while back you were having problems tightening up your groups. How did you make out with that?

looking for good sabot slugs

I shoot an H&R heavy barrel with Rem accu tip slugs and also use lightfiield 20 gauge. Both are absolute tack drivers from this gun at 75 and 100 yds.

Dear CHski65,
I was told that the triggers on those guns were not the greatest. Do you agree or disagree?

i dropped my first deer with my Mossberg 835 loaded with the Remington CopperSolids. not a fan of remington ammo, and dont hunt with the mossberg any more other than turkey. that doe never knew what hit her. the Hornady SST's are great in the 12 ga. just depends on YOUR gun. my 835 might like one ammo, and your 835 might not. just depends on how much recoil you can handle.

Remington 710 .270
Smith And Wesson M&P40
Mossberg 835 Ulti-Mag 12 Ga
CVA optima Mag .50 cal. Muzzleloader
1968 Browning recurve

the 835 is the one with the smooth over bore isn't it? if it is they aren't made to shoot slugs. the 535 is the same gun without an over bore.

I've heard the the non-slug models of the 835 are overbored, but the slug models aren't. I've never really understood the advantages of an overbored barrel though.

Angry I just found this we

I just found this website and it is great! I wtenad to make a comment about Wolf ammo. I have a Weatherby .308 and a Marlin MXLR .308 Lever. I bought about 400 rounds of Wolf and took both to the range. As you know my Marlin uses only one brand of bullet. After the range, I cleaned both rifles and the Marlin was dirtier than the Weatherby using the Wolf ammo, in spite of fired more than the MXLR. In fact, there was not too much dirt on the patch. Just thought I'd share.

yes. the factory 835 turkey barrel will explode if you shoot a slug out of it due to being overbored. thus, i picked up a rifled slugger barrel for it...lol..... wasnt going to go against the recommendation to not shoot slugs out of the Ulti-Mag barrel..

the difference in the overbore/non is huge. dads 870 remington is nice, but cant hold the groups at distance that the overbore can. and with the ulti-mag choke, it makes a hell of a difference.
