#1 on my shed hit list "still" I know it is very early but this is why I keep going.I am trying to find shed of this buck 4yrs straight.Pretty cool how he had damage to his right main beam at 3.5 while in velvet. He dropped several drops that year. http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps45dfafe8.jpg .........................right side at 3.5......................... http://i551.photobucket.com/albums/i...ps7f510db1.jpg |
Oh I found the set in 2011 side by side and again in 2012 side by side same bed. |
That's pretty cool finding sheds like that especially of the same buck, congrats. My problem is I live 5 hours away from where in hunt in PA, S. Ohio and 9 hours in Michigan. Not much shed hunting for me. |
The only 2 sheds I ever found were just inside the woodlines, 1 along a powerline and 2nd, a brushy, scrub field. I don't know if it means anything though. |
I normally find 10 to 15 sheds a season |
Very nice Bud.... what's your secret? any special places you look? I know everyone says check food sources during late season and check bedding areas because that's the two places bucks are going to be during this time of year, but what's your secret? Anything? |
bucks are still carrying their racks here. |
I look around ceder thickets, edges of fields, mostly spend my time on the upper half of south and southeast facing ridges.I found one Sunday one yesterday and one today 4 for me so far.I would say 75% still have the antlers |
