Default Need some help..

Hey been a bow hunter for years, but I'm new to rifle hunting I have a Savage model 11 . 308 and was trying to figure out a good bullet weight to use for deer hunting this fall. Whats a good off the shelf round or is it better to reload?

Remington CoreLokt in 165gr is about as perfect as it gets for deer in that rifle/cartridge combo.

Default For a factory 308 Win load also try Federal Fusion.....

I have to agree with others that Remington Core Locks in either 150 or 165 grain are good choices. I also like the Federal Fusion loads in both 150 and 165gr. Both of these Companies are aggressive wtih their pricing.

I shoot 150 grain Remington Corelokt in my NEF Handi Rifle. I have fired it nine times at deer ranging from 25 to 125 yards and killed nine deer with it. None required a second shot. Some died where they stood, some ran but none more than 100 yards. And those that did run left a very easy to follow blood trail.
