Got on line and discovered my model 70 was built in 1957. It's in 243 cal wearing a dated weaver v8 scope. Book shows these to be priced near $2000.00 range. This one is is ex condition with a distraction of having a recoil pad added at some point in it's life., which lowers the value. As noted in another post the owner had a custom leather scabbard made for it. This may end up going on sale as profit margin makes for the purchase of something more custom possible. :whistling:
I've always wanted an over/under shotgun, and I still need a black rifle????? The fun is in the shopping. I'll take a couple of more months to think about it, no hurry. The value though really caught me by surprise and got the mind thinking, which always gets me in economic trouble!
If you sell the M70 to a shooting buddy you still can shoot a few rounds through it for old times when you end up at the range together.
