everyone here brings up some good points. I would start with reading the game laws where you live. Many states now allow you to shoot smaller calibered rifles in an effort to cater to the ladies and children. I agree with everyone here; there isnt a person alive that can call him/herself a hunter if they dont show an interest in recruitment. I'm 23 and idk what Id do if i didnt have the outdoors to occupy myself. Also, you'd be suprised at how inexpensive some single shot rifles and shotguns can be. Rossi makes a great 243 setup with a scope for around $300. If nothing else, bring yourself to VA and we'll put you behind a rifle and on some deer lol
