I agree with the comment about using 140 grain .270 loads. That kinda his the best of both worlds. The only downfall is that not many companies factory load in 140...I know Hornady does, but not sure about anyone else.

I killed my best buck about 10 years ago with a 140 grain .270 Hornady SST.

The last I purchased were Remington's loaded with Swift A frames in 140 gr

I ended up going with the 30-06 and am very excited to get out shooting!!!

That shows your intelligence and glad you didnt listen to some of those 270 fellas we have on here.The 30/06 is timeless very smart purchase.

Now wait just a cotton pickin' minute . . . I resemble that remark!!! What's wrong with "US" 270 fellas??? Ain't nuttin wrong shootin' whitetail with a .270.

It's all about choice, kinda like everything else in life. You make an edumacated choice about something, then deal with the choices that you've made.

But now to the serious side of things . . . . . .

Where's the pic of that .30-06???

All you 270 shooters are welcome in my Deercamp anytime, just please be kind when I screw-up and miss with my 30-06. I will never blame the rifle it is far better than I will ever be.....

Default 30-06

Lol. They are both great rounds. My dad shoots a 30-06 so now I can just steal him ammo. :) that is why I went with the 30-06. I also believe it is a more versatile round then the .270 but that's my opinion.

everyone gets an opinion, problem is usually half are wrong. What you need to do is own a 270 and a 30-06.
