Default I have a decision to make about a new rifle

I am considering buying a replacement rifle for the one my Son claimed.

The choices I am considering are

Winchester M70 Featherweight Stainless in 30-06 with a walnut stock and moa trigger. A laminated stock isn't offered...

Ruger M77 Hawkeye Stainless in 30-06 with a laminated stock and the hawkeye trigger.

How does the group think these compare?

I think i would chose the winchester, the reviews of the new model 70's have been positive.I dont wanna start an argument but the rugers ive seen are hit or miss in the accuracy dept.(imho).Have you looked at a CZ550(30/06)hammer forged barrel, mauser action, good adj trigger with the option of a set trigger, alot more gun for less money.

X2 on the Ruger
Have not heard any complaints on the way the Rugers shoot expecially the M77's

Both weapons are even in all departments, but between these two choices I'd probably sway a little toward the Ruger also.

My semi-auto's are Remingtons and my bolt actions are Savage. Can't help you in that decision one bit. Sorry . . . .
